PLAYER BIO: Arnau Martínez

Arnau Martínez joins Valencia CF after a successful career to date at Girona FC, offering leadership, adaptability and experience to the squad.  

2026-27 and 2025/26

He comes to Valencia CF from Girona FC, where he skippered the side on 52 occasions and was a cornerstone of the team.

Last season, he played 36 matches, scored 2 goals, and provided 3 assists. In that same campaign, he was the team's third-most successful player for ball recoveries in the opposition half (30), third in breaking up opposition attacks (60), second for clearances (136), and third for aerial duel success rate (50%).

Furthermore, he was the third most involved player for Girona during the 2025/26 season (2,004 actions), third in both attacking and defensive moves (1,678/326), and second in successful long passes (99).

CONSOLIDATION AT ELITE LEVEL

Arnau Martínez came up through the youth ranks of FC Barcelona, CE Hospitalet, and Girona FC. The full-back continued his development with Girona until reaching the first team, where he made 178 appearances in the top tier of Spanish and European football (LALIGA EA SPORTS, LALIGA HYPERMOTION, Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League).

NATIONAL TEAM INVOLVEMENT

He made his debut with the Spain Under-19s in 2021, playing in international friendlies and European Championship qualifiers. In 2022, he continued with the Under-19s, but also received an opportunity with the Under-21s. With the latter, he played three friendly matches and, in 2023, was a runner-up in the European Championship held in Georgia and Romania.
